The beautiful song, Amazing Grace, originally published in 1779 by English poet and clergyman John Newton. This song means seeing the light in dark times. When I think of this song, my heart pours tears for all the African slaves and their descendants who went through hell in our Country, the United States of America. The racial injustices and continued inequalities in our country has left me with so much sadness. It is through music and the arts, where I find the light to help fight for civil rights. I am agnostic and appreciate all religions when there is no harm to others. I am grateful for a hope of a different government, then what we have seen in the past four years. Our country has a lot of things to fix. We have so much work to do and so much healing to give one another. I am singing this song to all of you!
Warning, I am not a singer, and my voice is no where near where it needs to be in order to stop breaking glass. However, I am taking this small risk and sacrificing my ego, to provide a little love to all of you. I hope that the positive healing energy I sent out in this song reaches all of you and surrounds you with the light of love, strength and healing.
Love,
